Meeting with British Columbia Wine Institute

Signature Grapes?

It was a pleasure meet Maggie Anderson from British Columbia Wine Institute, thanks for her treat of the breakfast at the Lakeside Dinning room of the Eldorado and the time for our discussion.

We had a nice discussion on Canadian, especially the BC Wines.

I found quote many nice grapes grown in BC, e.g. the Cabernet Franc, Syrah, Pinot Noir, and Riesling.

Can we have a signature wine grape for BC, instead of competing the Bordeaux blend grapes with the rest of the wine world?

I think this is what we need to think about unless the wine industry would like to keep the misconception of Canadian wine = Icewine.
