*Rumeni muskat = Muscat Blanc À Petits Grains
#Traminer=Savagnin Blanc 。
** Šipon=Fumint
Slovenia is wedged between Italy, Austria and Hungary, Croatia and the Adriatic Sea. It is an emerald country with very diverse landscapes. I have tasted serveral of their white wines from Puklavec Family Winery Gomila and Vino Kupljen, grape varieities are Rumeni Muškat, Traminer, Sauvignon Blanc and Šipon. They came from the Podravska wine region which borders Austria and Hungary, mainly produce white wine (over 90% accoding to figures). Per my tasting, they had very fine quality, refreshing acidity and good structure, especially the Gomila Single Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc.
The Primorje region borders the Italian wine region of Friuli-Venezia Giulia, making more wines with international grapes to establish international reputation, this time I have tasted a Bordeaux blend from Kristančič Winery and a methode champenoise sparkling by Bjana.
