It was a great honor sharing this bottle of very rare Mas de Daumas Gassac Cuvee Emile Peynaud 2002 with my favorite owner Mr Basile Guibert and my favorite Wine Critic in Hong Kong Carol Forrest.
This Cabernet Sauvignon was still young, it opened up a bit after 2 hours, the nose was beautiful with lot of floral and spices.
Exceptional elegance and texture with great balance and structure . Still have many years ahead, so I don’t think I would open another bottle in my cellar within 10 years.
Mas de Daumas Gassac Cuvée Émile Peynaud is a special wine dedicated to Professor Emile Peynaud, the forefather of modern oenology. With 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from first vines planted in 1972, and long fermentation and maceration (20 days at least) in stainless steel tank.

The wine was released only in exceptional years, 2001, 2002, 2007, 2008 and the latest 2015
The production of the 2002 vintage was 2000 bottles
