HKWS mature Burgundy wine dinner

Very rare opportunity to taste some very mature Burgundy wine with HKWS.

Surprised finding the 1959 vintage still having plenty of cooked fruit and good acidity, the wine was still very energetic.

This is a 1959 Nicolas Potel Volnay Santenots 1er Cru, which may have been produced by Nicolas Potel’s father Gérard Potel.

Also could not forget the spices and intense mushroom aroma of the 1964 Savigny Les Beaune 1er Cru by Andre Morey.
