Domaine des Malandes Chablis

Have been a big fan of the Domaine des Malandes Chablis for years, it’s a great opportunity to meet the owner Ms Lyne Marchive today, with the full range of her wines from Petit Chablis, Chablis to 1er Cru and Grand Cru. Lyne also brought a magnum of the 2002 Chablis Grand Cru Vaduesir to demonstrate the aging potential of Chablis.

In fact, the wine is still aromatic with sweet corn and herbal notes, acidity is still fresh and lively with crewy minerals and some preserved fruit flavor on finish.

Tasted this Moulin à Vent of Domaine Richard Rottiers, which is named after Ms Lyne Marchive’s (owner of Domaine des Malandes) son. Moulin-à-Vent is one of the best Beaujolais Crus, which is known as “King of Beaujolais”, made from the Gamay grape variety.

Unlike the simple Beaujolais Nouveau wine, this wine is more complex, with intense blueburry nose, on palate the tannin and body is medium to high, a lot of sour cherries on palate and minerals on finish.
